Lucky Last... thingy 13

Why do things matter? like the number 13 for example (seeing it's week thirteen and all), there are so many superstitions about this number 13. So the number thirteen is a thing but then all the superstitions about the number 13 are things, which means if we are thinking everyTHING in the world there is infinity, too many THINGS to count.

What astounded me in the lecture this week was that 3 years ago in 2008 the number of things connected to the internet overtook the number of people on earth. This is a phenomenal thought, that is sooooo many THINGS connected to the internet! If we think about it the internet is still a relatively modern development in technology and to have so many things connected to it already is unbelievable. I would like to think what it will be like in another twenty years time or so. However when an item acquires connectivity through the powers of computation and memory they immediately transgress the borders assigned to them. Some may suggest that all the things on the internet will mutate and there will be a huge THING uprising against the human race...some how I doubt it. Even with the multitude if THINGS connected to the internet, they are not going to coincidentally grow brains and take over the world... they're not those type of things.
